Red face 2002 Help

Hi new to this forum and hope you experts can help. Just purchased a 2002 Volvo S40 for my 17-year daughter, her first car. I thought it was in great condition but recently paid quite a bit for new belts, etc. The car has 121,000 miles on it. There are a couple of things I need repaired and wanted to see if there as an easy to way to do it myself. 1) passenger side wiper blade does not touch the glass, I just bought new wipers and the replacement was easy. However, when I had her test them there is only the top corner of the passenger side that is actually touching the glass. I tightened the screw on the blade holder but that did not seem to work, any suggestions???? 2) Where is the fuse box on the inside of the car (forgive my ignorance, I am a single mom of two) I looked at the owner's manual and it does not appear to be where it says it is which is on the lower left side of the driver's side steering wheel. 3) The air conditioner works great but doesn't seem to really blow air? Is this something that can easily be repaired? and finally 4) The windshield wiper fluid only comes out on the passenger side not the right. It appears clogged any easy way to unclog or clear this? Any help is much appreciated.

welcome...
I have two s40 2000 and 2002...
1. wiper is common problem I have same..
I bent the wiper arm to touch the windshield.
you may have to buy new wiper arm not wiper blade.
you also will have wiper arm that touch the hood when open and close the hood.

2. let me look at my car tomorrow ..
3. check fuse or control unit or the blower motor.
4. if you look at where the water come out
there is little spray port is clogged, use fine needle to unplug it.

hope it helps...

Re your a/c not blowing air, you may want to take a look at the state of the cabin air filter. If it has not been changed in a while it may be impacting air flow. Requires 5min of work to remove but is pretty straight forward.

See guide:
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...bin+air+filter

if it's not looking too bad (i.e. still looks semi-clean) just pop it back in.

Can you hear the heater blower working in all of the switch positions, if so the fan and control kit is ok so check the filter as mentioned above.

If the fan only works on a single setting/ non at all then have a read up on blower motor resistor fix, although in reality it is a transistor that is actually at fault and costs about $8 to fix - RadioShack will sell the replacement transistor - Mike
