Default What towbar?

Hello, I am looking at buying a tow bar for my 2001 v40, I have seen lots of company's on ebay selling kits from £80 to £120, Is £80 too cheap? Can any one recommend a good company to buy from?

Thanks

I had a Volvo OEM one, I have seen some kits out there though, main thing is the wiring as its part of the MOT - try and find a kit with a plug and play solution.

Adam, if it's any help, I managed to source a genuine plug & play wiring loom from Rufe for peanuts. Somewhere in the region of £20.

As for the towbar, I prefer to stick to known names, such as Witter, Anker, etc. Second hand would be fine. Give it a wire brush down & Hammerite.

I have just ordered a Witter towbar for £107 with postage, my plan was to fit the tow bar and then take the car to an auto electrician who has quoted me £30 to wire up, do you have a part number for the £20 plug and go electrics?

Thanks for the replys

Adam

I'm afraid not, it was a while back now and the box got thrown. All you need to do though is ring Rufe up - one of the members here who works at a dealership - to get a price.

Check to see if you have the grey connector, taped up to the light cluster, behind the carpet in the boot area first though. Mine is a ph2, so might be a bit different for your model.

Do you know if the plug & play kits have an audio kit to tell you if they are working?
I have tried the socket on a friends caravan, it works ok apart from one of the lights on the caravan has a blown bulb
