Default Early 145 for sale - bad condition

I've been driving past this for many years and I'm 95% sure it had a 'for sale' sign on yesterday

It's located on the A283, just north of Northchapel, which is north of Petworth

It's obviously in a pretty sorry state, but by the looks of the streetview pics it seems to have early opening side windows?

It's nothing to do with me, but thought I should give the heads up as I suspect it's being got rid of as a clear out.

Hopefully someone can salvage some of it at least!

I first noticed this car, in about the same position, about 20 years ago. I stopped once and knocked at the door of the house behind the car (it was far less overgrown then), and the elderly guy who opened the door said it was his wife's car, and it was waiting for her to come back. Upon walking back to my car (had to park a fair way away due narrow winding main road) a local who saw me knock said the householders wife had been dead for ages and the gentleman was a bit absent-minded.

Yes - the car is an early 145 but on walking out I slightly tapped the front wing, and shards of rust fell down..... There is nothing bar the grill worth saving from this car, except glass and perhaps the back axle. It would disintegrate upon trying to lift it - 100%. Perhaps the house has now changed hands and whoever now owns it is looking for an opportunity....

Shame, but can't be the only car just waiting.....

I was hoping to pop in and see this one on my way back from the Sussex meet later this month as its pretty much identical to mine and I would love to see what could be saved.

If you could confirm that its for sale Tony that would be great thanks!

Unfortunately I won't be passing for another month as a minimum, this time was a bit of a coincidence to be honest...

Default 145 ?????

there is no for sale sign on this car.

the sign littletony has spotted was the name of the house so a delivery driver
could identify the delivery destination.

the owner of the car will depart with the car when he sells the house and goes into a retirement home.He estimates that might happen in two years time.

all panels are completely rotten.
all seats have been eaten away

the owner doesnt want to sell off small parts

Thanks for the replies.

I wasn't thinking of asking to take just parts of the car, if it had of been for sale then I would have arranged to have the complete car recovered to salvage what could be saved to help my early 145 live on.

Hopefully it won't just get crushed when the house changes hands and they find it too rotten to move.

Ah! A pity if it ends up cubed. There would be a fair amount of stuff worth scrounging I'm sure. There was a 140 series in a hedge in Dorset I noticed, thought it was that one....sorry can't remember where in Dorset!

Apologies to everyone, seems my 95% should have been 5%!!

In my defense, I was driving past and saw a sign on the car, then made an assumption. As the saying goes: Assumption is the mother of all...
