what I actually 'did today' was take the kids out in the canoe out on a river out in the sticks, 45mins either way and car behaved perfectly. Nice to know after months and months of only short trips

the oldest boy's reaction to the newly painted wheels.. 'oh yeah' ... thanks Jude I'm glad you like them lol dont get too excited eh

some additional styling today

de-badged rear end leaving only my moose badge - used a 'wonderwheel' for the first time and can confirm it got rid of the gunk effortlessly with no damage at all to the paint, compound to finish and is now flawless

wonder wheel

also, sprayed grill with paint left over from wheels, so that matches as well now.

kept the badge there though because the grill has kind of dents in it and it looked like it was missing. planning on a mesh version soon, but I ebayed another grill to mess around with for that.. tbc

next major task is sorting out the tatty black bump strips all round, either respray existing or just replace them

slightly more random one this weekend.. Air freshener 'bombed' my car because the missus kept moaning it smelt like an old mans car. apparently 'well it IS an old mans car' isn't a good enough retort

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

lasted 2 days so far and still smelling nice and fresh

was a new one on me, I usually just hang a little tree from the mirror

36 and I'm 39, old is a matter of perspective I guess lol

My response about it being an old mans car was kind of a joke being a volvo but in fairness they are getting a younger crowd these days

An extended family member will buy a new Recharge (XC-40) in a few days. We're no part of any young demographic.
Fewer and fewer Volvos seen in Northern New Jersey.

update on freshness, a week later and the missus reports that the old man smell is entirely gone and still fresh as a daisy

I had to ask her seeing as I couldn't smell it myself anyway. I still think there's something wrong with her nose but whatever keeps her happy

Today I got the transmission flushed.. It took 20lts to get it to run clean and probably the same amount in petrol
For anyone who want to know, it makes a difference. The gear changes now are so smooth you hardly notice it change gear. The down shifts are great aswell... Big smiles on the way home.
