Hi

I have an 850 on the sale fourm but not much intrest as yet. I know it has high mileage and believe the price reflects this, does anyone have any ideas as to how I might find my car a new home quickly? I just cant afford to run two cars for much longer.

Any sensible suggestions welcome

Craig

Have a look at prices on Ebay...you can get lower mileage late model 850s for less than £2500 even with Buy-It-Now.
Sadly a fact of life.
I'm going to run mine til it dies now it's got over 150k on the clock.

get your car on ebay with lots and lots of high res pics, then lists everything it has had done and give the impression its a well looked after car.

I had no luck when selling my 850 t5 in the locals, put it on ebay and had a bloke from cardiff ring up a day later and said he would take it. he then came all the way down to the kent coast to collect it.

I second what bobcat says!

If you put 30 minutes of effort into a decent ad. you'll be rewarded with more ££ at the end of the sale.

Write an essay on the car, miss out nothing, be completely honest and frank, loads of good quality pictures, good title and subtitle and you shouldn't have too much probs selling.

Also - would advise that you sell with no-reserve. When a car has a reserve price it puts people off bidding as they think you want too much for the car. The eBay value is the real value of the car, the perfect seller/buyer equillibrium.

Start the bidding at £50 or something low, run it for 7 days, no reserve and bobs your mothers brother.

I bought a pretty well looked after 1995 850 GLT 2.5 fully loaded for 1500 quid two weeks ago on eBay, 91000 miles. Ok, it needs new brakes soon and leaks a bit of oil but I have driven it 1200 miles already with no problems at all.
