Xc90 t5

Good evening all,
We are currently in talks around selling our beloved 2015 XC60 D5 R design to buy an XC90, the one I am interested in is the 2019 T5.
I was originally thinking of a diesel XC90 but have read about issues with EGR and oil consumption etc.

The XC60 has given us completely trouble free motoring for the last 6 years. The D5 truly is a great engine (wish they had put this in the XC90)

When it comes to the T5 XC90 do they suffer from any common problems? I can’t seem to find much online re faults or owner long term reviews.

Had mine 4.5 years and 60 odd thousand miles. Love it. Would buy another if Volvo allowed options to be put on lower spec cars as I like simpler seats and high profile tyres.

They are pretty reliable to be fair. We've done about 20k miles in our 2018 XC90 T5 Inscription Pro.

Like the previous generation (and many SUV's) they are heavy on brakes (pads). Ours was a SELEKT approved used car and we extended the warranty (which proved to be worthwhile, as it's just had a replacement air compressor!). If it was out of warranty this would have cost us circa £1,400

Wouldn't say that the compressor failure is a Volvo specific issue, many cars with air suspension have air bag or compressor issues.
