Default End of lease - options

Hi
I am starting to look at a replacement for my XC60 whose lease runs out the first week in October. My problem is, I get different advice from different dealers. One told me to wait till July as plenty of time, another said I should look to order ASAP as the factories shut for a period in July and that causes delays.
One said they could buy out my existing lease if the new car comes early, another offered to hold onto the new car until I needed it.

Would be good to know other experiences.

I think I am either going for an xc40 redesign B4p auto or a v60 b3p momentum, both with climate and h&k sound.
Will decide mainly on price as I like both cars.

With the current supply problems, could be a big gap between when you plan to get a car & when you actually get it, couldn't there?

With Volvo becoming very popular i'd imagine that supply will be an issue if this continues.
