Sorry if this is a slight thread hi-jack,

I'm just in the process of buying a xc70 and it has a dog guard fitted from the factory(I'm sure the dealer said it was electric but will find out on Monday).

Is this easy to remove as I'll never need to use it and don't want to drag around the extra weight if it can be avoided?

Cheers,

Alan.

Yes it is you just need to get in the back and have a close look at the way it locates, by the way they not just dog guards they stop any items in the boot flying forwards in a rta.

Good point about the passenger protection.

Could it be electric or are they all manual, haven't seen one fitted before so not sure if removing whether there would be electrics to deal with albeit a plug to disconnect probably?

Just taken mine out as the car going back to the dealers tommorow, and I must say it's quite light about 2 kilo's.

You can get electric folding rear headrests, but I dont know anything about electric dog guards.

Cheers,

the dealer must be talking non-sense.

If it's only 2 kilos might just leave it be but no doubt my wife won't like it being there so the decision may be out of my hands.

Hello. I'm new here. I recently got a 07 Volvo V70, it didn't come with the dog guard and my dogs an asshole. Do you have pics of the guard, not necessarily your one, are they easy to install? And one final question, would you post to Ireland?

Thanks in advance.

John Rambo.

Edit... are they bomb proof? This dog is a purebred moron. Thanks...
