Polestar Friendly Insurer
Hi All
Last year it added about £40 to my policy having Polestar on my V60 however looking at renewal prices and £559.98 with Polestar, £298.92 without. Different insurance companies but like for like cover using a comparison site. Any suggestions please?

Also prices have inflated somewhat recently, when I was looking to keep my old car alongside the new one I got a quote, 11 yr old car worth about £2k max and a certain write off if it ever needed just a bumper replacing was £550, Volvo in the garage wanted £1500 for the S90 and I'm old (no nappies yet) with a good record, I reckon you should be able to score a £350-£400 deal if you can find a broker that wants regular business rather than a desk jockey looking for max commission, it helps to have your home insurance with them as well, more relationships more discounting available, might even be worth trying the bank insurance if only for one year. |

There have been lots of insurance threads on here recently about the merits and criticisms of various providers, so I'll just give you my recent experience in the last 4 months:-
1) v60 with polestar:- stayed with existing broker after it first went up 10% then came back to moreorless the same when I tweaked the mileage and excess. 2) Family car 2:- Dropped 35% at renewal with same broker's renewal, but not keen on company used, so went to Aviva Online (not normal Aviva ins) to be with them direct, for exactly the same (35% off previous) 3) Modern classic car:- broker renewal went up 20%. Got alternative quote and told them how much. Broker looked again and 10% cheaper, including agreed value in writing. Now, all 3 car were on exactly the terms and history as before. You just have to play the usual non-sensical game. |

I'm with LV at the moment and previously was with Direct Line. Pretty sure the difference was pretty small with Polestar despite it adding 30bhp (nearly 16%) to my D4

Adrian Flux weren't great. I know their guy comes on here sometimes. But when their email quote arrived it missed off my wife's speeding conviction which I declared and also listed my Polestar as "Electronic Ignition" in the modifications section......

When I added Polestar to my V90, LV didn't have any issues and the policy cost about 10% more.
When I renewed for 2022, the policy was to within a few £ the same prices as 2021, so happy to give a thumbs up for LV as being a Polestar Friendly insurer. |

I'm sorry that hear about the issues you had with ourselves with your quotation. Doesn't sound great. I'd appreciate it if you could message me your details so I can take a look into it. Regards, Dan. |
