Timing Belt Changed
Buddy just bought a 2003 XC90 T6 but didn't do much research on service records before-hand. Is there an easy way to tell if the timing belt has been changed? 116,160 mi on the clock w/ new tranny at 95k (he does have that paperowork). Thanks for any help!

Not really, no. On 6cyl engines, thermostat also needs changing with the timing belt.
Not too difficult/expensive to replace after all, so I'd highly recommend changing it unless theres any records to proof its been renewed. |

He could call/visit the nearest Volvo dealership. If the belt was changed by a dealer then this should be on Volvo's central records system. The dealer should be helpful especially if he has a chance of picking up some new business.
