I can just see members of the convoy getting hacked off when chavs, boy racers and poor people like me, who cant afford such a system, undertake, overtake and do whatever they have to do to get on!
IMO, this is one driver aid too far and peoples attitude on the roads (certainly in this country), would have to change dramatically for a system like this to work! |

given teh brain dead drivers we have,, whats the differance ? they Already rely on saftey features as "driver aids" and blame them when they crash ...
we Deffinatly do not need such a system thank you. and those with 1/4 a brain would agree with that. Tech is good, progress is good, tech for tech's sake Isnt, and thats Not progress, at all. it solves a "problem" that would be FAR better solved by Teaching people to DRIVE a CAR properly , not "to pass a test".

I really can't see this system being workable, as with any wireless system it will be prone to signal interference and as it states in the blog "it allows drivers to do other things".
Working on laptops? Having a cuppa? Making a phone call? Doing a crossword? Worst case senario, having a kip???? All of the above would be illegal whilst driving your car, anything that distracts your concentration from the road is never a good thing even if your vehicle is under radio control. I wonder what the outcome would be if the lead vehicle driver fell asleep or was involved in an accident. |
