Every few months my 1.8i resets everything except the main mileage. The time clock, miles covered, miles to go, mpg etc., will all be at zero. It is doing this since I got it in September 05 and nothing else has developed so I thing it is just an odd quirk.

Hi there, i'm just starting to realise how frail these looms are!!. although i think mine is quite an isolated case in that the loom is in very poor condition for a 2000 61,000mile car i would suggest checking the wireing to your dash unit.

i think theres a diagram is in the haynes manual.
but if it aint a hassle at the mo why worry i suppose.

The instrument cluster reseting itself is a know problem and has been known about for years (long before the wireing loom faults started to show up), It was offered as a fix under the warranty when the cars were young enough, the fix involved replacing the instrument cluster.
Mine reset itself once just after buying the car in 2002 it hasn't happened again.
