Default XC60 Transmission Fluid Temperture Measurement

Dear fellow members,
Need to change the automatic transmission fluid in my early 2016 XC60 D5 AWD.
I am aware that the correct fluid level can be done by simply measuring the volume of old fluid then replacing with the same volume at normal running temperature, but I would like to measure the temperature accurately.
I do not have access to VIDA and my existing OBD2 scanner does not show ATF Temperature.
Does anyone have actual experience of using an OBD2 scanner to do this? Or can anyone confirm that the temperature data is available to OBD2 scanners.
Thanks in advance,
Nick.

if your engine us up to temperature after say a 4 or 5 mile run your gearbox will be at the required 60C temperature as it is thermostatically heated
( and cooled ) by the engine coolant .

I can confirm that the car scanner app will display Auto Gearbox temperature.
On my car the normal working temp is 60deg and varies very little .

Thanks Johnnnyoro,
What ODB2 do you use?
I was thinking of getting a Carsoft i906 as they seem to be fairly Volvo specific

Hi I can only recommend carscanner as it is the one I use , with a viecar 4.0 obd
You can download carscanner and use it for free and the obd dongle was about £9 I think
Extremely useful and can show lots of live data as you drive.

I use a viecar one and have had no problems . I just did a quick search on ebay and they appear to be quite expensive now .
Other members on here have said they get excellent results with cheap ones .
I think most any one on amazon or ebay will probably be ok .
Hope this helps.

Just in case this helps anyone else.
I have spent lots of time and effort trying to find a OBD2 scanner that will measure Transmission Fluid Temperature and confirm if my early 2016 XC60 will provide the appropriate live data.
I took a chance and bought a Foxwell NT530 (Volvo Specific) and yes it does display this live temperature data.
It also looks like it has a host of other Volvo related functions.
Pretty delighted with it.

What do you mean by required 60C temperature?
Is this different on a XC60 T5 2018?
I do see this rather steady 60C on the highway.
But when going into city traffic after that it rises to 80-90C.
So that is not ok?
