Cruise Control Retrofit
Hi there! I am new to the forum having recently inherited a 2008 Volvo S40 1.8i S in Orinoco Blue. I do mostly motorway driving and have had cruise control in the past. The S trim doesn't have cruise or a trip computer. My question - am I able to swap the steering wheel to one with cruise control and 'unlock' a feature in the CANBUS to allow me cruise control? Forgive me if I am making it sound easier than it is - has anyone done it before?

It is possible, but I believe you need to take the car to a volvo dealer to activate the software once you've changed the hardware.

You listed full accessory package from volvo, yes, but if getting hardware himself (pulling parts from other model), is wheel with CC controls only thing needed or pedals/pedal sensors are required aswell?
im basically trying to understand what hardware is needed for software package to work, in my old S40 there was separate electric motor attached to gas pedal that physically was pushing pedal into the floor and it was only applicable for CC models.
