2008 S60 SE Lux Steering Controls
Hi all, Thought I'd post up as I've searched through something like 500+ threads and have not been able to find a definitive answer.
I've fitted a Pioneer Apple Car Play unit to my 2008 S60 SE Lux. It came with the HU-850 and Dolbly Pro Logic 2. After installing the pioneer the steering controls no longer work. I've retained the PDC with a system that gets spliced into the CAN Hi-Low wires in the head unit plug and everything is working as it should, the problem is that I'm getting nothing from the steering controls. Is there anyway of getting this working or have I been sold a dud and its just a case of doing without on some cars? Last edited by Parkodrive; Jun 9th, 2021 at 16:04. |

mine was a bit odd when I first installed it (sony) but works ok now..
just a few random thoughts, on mine there was a little dipswitch to set between sony type and 'other' .. did yours come with any instructions like that also when I go through my menu screens there's a way of manually assigning steering wheel buttons, and that worked for me first time although then when I popped the fuse by accident and had to replace it, after that it just worked by itself there is a connector from the convertor unit that then plugs into the back of the stereo on mine, presumably you connected that (the right way around, because on mine i think it fitted both ways and I had to check) IIRC this is the one I used https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/conn...l-adaptor.html Last edited by stuart bowes; Jun 9th, 2021 at 15:21. |

also point to note, mine sees the handbrake the wrong way around .. i.e. not letting you watch films / use the touchscreen keyboard when the handbrake is on (should be other way around)
it's useful to know in case you're trying to type in a satnav postcode and it wont let you use the keyboard.. try taking the handbrake off |

This is the kit I'used. Says its for 2005 onwards.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263141058682 I've gone into the settings on on the SPH-130DAB theres no option for manually setting the steering inputs. I'll have to look at the pugs on the interface. I used to fit stereos at my last job and every connect2 harness I saw, the steering control interface plugs were one sided so they could only plug in one way. |

one other thing is the day/night mode usually switched by headlights but because you always leave the headlights on i just use a little switch on the dash. the white map at night is blinding and you dont want to change the dimming settings manually on the head unit every time |
