Default 99 v70 dash cluster problems

Hi

I’ve got a problem with my dash cluster dying periodically usually between 200km intervals. Once I stop the car and put the ignition to setting 2, my battery lamp shows. So far I’ve found that disconnecting my battery somehow resets the hardware and my dash goes back to normal again. I don’t think my battery is the problem as my voltage is good and all of my auxiliaries are working fine. Could this be a sign of a bad cluster? I have 370,000km on and would really like to keep the original cluster. Has anyone had similar problems? Also, for whatever reason this also prevents me from using the central locking system with my key fob.

Doesn't sound like this is yoru issue, I've seen similar: my alternator was near to packing in. New regulator for £10 on eBay sorted it?

There's a slight possibility this may be related to the electrical part of the ignition switch. All sorts of very odd electrical things can happen when this switch wears.
