Post Clutch Adjustment

HI, I have just had my clutch master cylinder replaced on my 1.8i petrol Sreg S40 and Iam now finding the clutch biting more at the top and seems to judder a bit when Iam pulling away. The gears change fine, but Iam concerned that its not been adjusted right and might wear my clutch out if not adjusted right(if thats possible?). Is this normal or do I just need to get used to the clutch? Thanks

Might be some air trapped in the line. Try bleeding it some more to make sure all traces of air are removed.

Question

Is it possible the clutch might need to be adjusted again? as well as me bleeding it. Iam no mechanic, but as its hydraulic operated, could the clutch wear quicker if its not adjusted right?

If it's not engaging fully then it's possible to burn both the assembly plate and flywheel. Try bleed it some more or take it back to the garage who did it for you and ask them to do it.

Did you buy the master cylinder yourself? Double check to see if it's the correct part for your model.

Right, thanks for the info. I didnt want to take it back to the garage just in case I was being a numpty in asking a stupid question. The clutch cylinder is the correct one, as I did check this.

A hydraulic system is self adjusting so thats not the problem a bleeding issue would make it bite near the floor ... strange one!

if u lok at my other post on is the clutch knackerd u will see the anser its the slave stroke bearing these often dont get replaced on these cars as its not in the kit but 90 % of the time that is the cause

if this was my car and i give it a full service every thing then it would normialy cost me £210 for all the part intrestingly thats gen parts gsf only come in £10 cheaper so i use gen parts lol

Sorry for being a bit thick, but if my clutch was operating fine untill I had the clutch master changed, surely it wouldnt be the bearing, but poss a bleeding issue?.The only reason I had the master cylinder changed was due to it making a clicking noise when depressing the clutch pedal and it was driving me mad after a while.!

Thanks for all the info,I wish I had left my old cylinder on there, as I didnt have this problem. I might just have to get used to it, as I cant afford to get it repaired at the moment. I will try the bleeding solution first.
