Default Oppisite sat nav problem to everyone else

Hi
I have a 2004 XC90 Se with built in sat nav and seem to have a different problem to most on here. Switch on and the sat nav rises up hit enter and destination screen comes on and sometimes goes onto map but then shuts down and lowers back in dash.
So I don't get the normal problems cant read disc or error just it wont stay on ?

Dave

Ok car goes into diagnostic place tomorrow to sort out the Sat Nav be interesting to see what he finds. He reckons you don't need to code them to the car if you replace them with a secondhand unit.
His thoughts are is the most system is not connected right (which could have happened when a Denison unit was taken out by another owner) he had a Aston in recently had the same problem.
We will see.
