throttle body cleaning
Hi all, has anyone cleaned throttle body on a S80 2009 2.0D and is it worth doing or best to leave it alone.
Thank you |

It all depend upon how dirty it is. If there are gummy deposits which interfere with the smooth opening and full closing of the butterfly valve then the running of the engine will be impaired. The device was designed to run the way it did when it left the factory, and that was clean. So if it's dirty, cleaning it might improve the way the engine runs. Care should be taken that damage isn't done to sensors in the assembly as that would negate any of the good work done cleaning it!
