The T8's have been on carwow since 2019, they got pulled when carwow lost some dealers (dealers don't make much on carwow or drivethedeal buyers), but they make up by selling their extras that people fall for, such as lifeshine or alloy wheel protection insurance.

I saved £5145.08 on carwow plus another £3000 on finance contribution, quite healthy really compared to joe bloggs sitting at the table next to you who isnt getting discounts.

They got pulled when Volvo announced the motor/battery changes and came back yesterday. I've used carwow myself for 2 previouse Volvo's .

They are keen for you to not cancel that's for sure. I'm hearing Feb/March for delivery on a new order from other dealers or December 22 from my current dealer. But i would imagine the shorter range models will also not hold their value as well so you may lose on the other side of the deal with the older model. I'm in the process of cancelling anyway, albeit trying to get my deposit back is taking some time so far. The Manager has to approve cancelations apparently and so far it has taken two emails and multiple phone calls and we haven't managed to process it. Strange to risk a £40k plus order over a £500 deposit.

I've asked to cancel mine, I'm covered by distance selling for the deposit. Haveing second thoughts though as I got approx 20% off and talking to a couple of dealers today they won't offer anymore than 3k deposit contribution and delivery is March at the earliest. Weirdly new model has a 17k future value v 25k for the current one. It all works out at around £400 a month extra!!!! This is based on a XC60 p*e.

Yes the lack of discount is odd isn't it. Unless the old discount was to encourage the sell off of what would seen become 'old stock' of the smaller batteries. I don't know what the discount has been like generally over the last few years (ie was the last 6-12 months unusually high discount). Maybe Car Wow are still negotiating their discounts on the new models. The 50 mile EV range though is worth holding out for, for me at least.

I suspect by the time they are discounted they will of announced a new mode or at least be in the same situation again. I think Volvo set what the maximum discount is a dealer can give not carwow. My current xc60 was heavily discounted through carwow I think you have to catch it right depending on what sales targets the dealers have to hit. The range and extra Hp is definitely a massive improvement.

It still qualifies for the Volvo Owners Club affinity discount so long as your a member it’s 8% +£1000 discount +£3000 deposit contribution.

For whatever reason when Carwow took off the older variants and replaced with the new ones they haven't replicated the discount levels (which are set by the dealers ONLY, and have nothing to do with Volvo UK or Carwow) - I'd not actually noticed that all our PHEV variants were set at 0% discount until I noticed this thread, so have just emailed Carwow to set them back to the same as they were set at on the previous incarnation of the engine

If anyone has any questions about how Carwow works then feel free to ask, as there seems to be varying views on here....

I have a quote on car wow from Tonbridge Volvo for 16% discount on an R design. So they are currently the best and that’s more in line with previous discounts. I’ve messaged them to check it’s the new model and they have confirmed it is.

How do the dealers set the discount then? Is it a case of they all think they can get away with not discounting on these new ones but one eventually breaks ranks and they all start discounting?

Sounds a good discount from Tonbridge Volvo

Personally, we set the discount levels at the highest we'd be willing to go to, bearing in mind volume and profit targets.

We don't always make ourselves the cheapest, as this can lead to a very high Volume of enquires which can't necessarily be dealt with effectively. We try to ensure we are "there or there about" and then focus on providing a professional and helpful approach in the hope that people will see value in this.

Some do, and some will just go with the cheapest out of principle, but we do ok through the site.
