£325 seems very high to me, I've just been quoted £550 for my 940 with all the mods listed and valued at £3500 too.

Default Chris Knott Insurance?

I've used Chris Knott Insurance (through the Owners Club) since I've had my 1995 940 Estate, mainly due to the "agreed valuation" arrangements. Mine is agreed at £3,500 should, God forbid, I ever need to make any sort of claim on it.

I've just started my third year with them for fully comprehensive etc / protected no claims and it was £315 - exactly the same as it has been each year.

The car has to be re-valued every two years for which they charge £38, but having looked elsewhere via all the usual sources, I've never found anything cheaper that offers the same cover / agreed value. Might be worth a look at them?

Normally I would entirely agree that you should look around every year. We've just changed my wife's car insurance and saved ourselves £100 on what the existing insurer was quoting for the same cover we've found elsewhere.

Thanks Dave ... just so discrete as always.

Yes David, the cost is for the two cars. The figure I mentioned also included full RAC cover on the 745 and similar with Green Flag. The mileages are limited on both cars .... you can't drive two at once!

The beauty of the Hagerty Classic cover is that there isn't a No Claims Discount system. This meant that I was able to use my NCD on the V70 cover with Churchill.

I took the Green Flag cover out separately as it was cheaper to go direct than in the Churchill package. There is a £350 excess on the V70 but Go Compare offer free £200 excess cover so that reduces that part of the excess for damage to my car down to £150. Windscreen excess is £75 and £10 for repair.

Another one of my previous insurers or should I say in this case, Brokers. All tarred with the same brush in my opinion. I don't even believe Dan exists as I have never been able to contact him.

Ditto although it was a long time ago for me and in the days where they actually had a "high st" shop you could walk into.

I suspect Dan is cover for a bot that scans threads for the mention of insurance and if it pops up, a post is made and inserted.

Hence my comment about bravery or stupidity - errr, genius as it's a clever marketing ploy but given the nature of the thread, bravery or stupidity to "break cover" and invite comment.
Yes, that pun was intentional!

I had a less than positive experience with Adrian Flux. I’ve used Lancaster for the last few years who have been significantly cheaper than anyone else I’ve come across. My diesel 940 is a fair bit more expensive to insure than the petrol one (despite being less powerful and less tidy-for now-than my petrol car, with an additional 200k miles on top too), but Lancaster were not far off half the price of any other insurer on it.

For reference, I’m 40 and have a clean license which I’ve held for just shy of 23yrs, no unspent convictions etc.
