Default V90CC heater

I have a late-'19 V90CC, which is great: but I've never really worked out how to heat the footwells effectively.
As with any modern car, I usually set the heating to 'auto' - but oddly this doesn't seem to alter the Volvo's fan setting at all, in the way that I'm sure my BMWs all used to. If I set the heater distribution screen to the lower segment only, turn the fan up and increase the temperature, I get a hot blast to my knees and above but not feet.
I wouldn't normally ask, but my wife's thermostat is set differently and she likes to have her feet warm!
Any ideas?

The heater system works in a slightly different way to other cars. When you select Auto and a fan speed you are selecting the maximum speed you wish the fan to run at. For example, on fan setting 3 the speed will vary between 1 and 3 only. The lower speeds are very quiet so you might not notice the change in speed. Try setting it to 5 and Auto and you should hear the different speeds.

Not sure why you're not getting footwell heating; might be a stuck flap.

Thanks - interesting regarding the fan, I'll give that a try. Time to get my head in the footwell and try to see what's going on!
