Default No problem found, but the battery still dies

So four days in the garage in June and they couldn't locate a fault.
Nonetheless, four weeks later the battery was flat one morning again (after a 200 mile drive the night before).
Volvo took 7 hours to send a technician out but he seemed to know what he was doing. He disconnected the battery for 30 minutes before doing anything else, then reconnected it and provided a charge from his van using jump leads for 30 minutes and then started the car. He couldn't find any faults using the roadside diagnostic tools he had and the battery was charging fine and in good condition. This wasn't the first time he'd done this, he said.
He recommended running the engine for at least a couple of hours, which we did.
We've since not had any problems with flat batteries. Fingers crossed.

Why not buy one of those solar powered trickle chargers (about £10 ebay)and just leave it plugged into the fag lighter when you don't use the car?

Yes, several people have used that successfully to overcome the battery discharge; but the point is that they should fix what is obviously a fault with a car that was only a year old at the time. Fortunately, we've not had a recurrence since, so we've not had to resort to that.
I'm told by the garage that the same historical problem with the XC90 has also now been fixed.

With regards to the trickle charger - i thought the fag lighter is only active when the car is switched on?

The front one is, but the one in the rear boot space is active the whole time.

Default Any updates?

This thread has been quiet for a while, and I'm wondering if there is any new information. I first read this thread when I took a 2011 XC60 T6 for a test drive overnight. I parked it in the garage and the battery was flat the next morning. After reading the thread, I decided to buy a newer year model to avoid the issue. I now own a 2013 Volvo XC60 T6 . . . with a flat battery. I've had the car for almost 11 months with no issues. Two weeks ago, my driving habits changed. Most trips are now only 15 minutes. If the car is drawing 0.4 amps when it's parked, I'm sure my change in driving habits has contributed to the problem. I will have to drive at least three hours to get the car to Volvo, so I'm hoping to be able to give them enough information to solve the issue in one trip.

Default My battery problem hasn't recurred

No more information, but a few observations.
- The satnav doesn't now forget all its settings every time the engine is switched off.
- The mirrors remember their settings (to fold in when the car is locked)
Both these things were not true even when the car started correctly after being left overnight.
Whatever the problem was it has now gone (touch wood).

Don't waste you time looking for Volvo to cure the problem and sort out you aftermarket kit. 99.99999% certainty that is where your problem lies
