Personally, we set the discount levels at the highest we'd be willing to go to, bearing in mind volume and profit targets.

We don't always make ourselves the cheapest, as this can lead to a very high Volume of enquires which can't necessarily be dealt with effectively. We try to ensure we are "there or there about" and then focus on providing a professional and helpful approach in the hope that people will see value in this.

Some do, and some will just go with the cheapest out of principle, but we do ok through the site.
Thanks. It's great to get this insight.

Also in terms of the finance deposit contribution, who sets that?

Hi,

As I touched on above:

"For whatever reason when Carwow took off the older variants and replaced with the new ones they haven't replicated the discount levels" - so was basically more of a system issue I think than people actually wanting to reduce the discounts.

The deposit contributions are set by Volvo UK / Volvo Cars Financial Services - they are usually reviewed quarterly but we did have a change from 1st September and will likely have another at the start of Q4 (1st October)

Looking at Carwow the new PHEVs depreciate a lot more than any other Variant by some margin, almost 80%. T6 Regarge after 4 years 32000 miles is worth £11700 while the B4 (diesel) momentum is worth significantly more at £17295.

Don't think the Residuals are set right for the new variants yet. Will take a little while for the systems to catch up.

Thanks for your insight on this, i realised half my question had already been answered on one of your older posts but couldn't edit in time. Do you think the deposit contribution will likely go up or down, or impossible to say?

Useful to know anyway.

Tonbridge must have got in there before others to get their discount fixed similar to how you have described for your dealership. I'll wait a few days on that basis until the others have had a chance to catch up to get a good comparison. They also aren't showing Inscription on the V60 yet, so hopefully that gets updated soon too.

I think these figures are wrong in carwow. The GFV was around 25k for the T8 XC60 it's now 17K.

Indeed, they are not correct at present as the new future values have not been confirmed for the higher power variants

Or they have a build slot to fill.
