About to buy a V90 tomorrow and need advice
Hello everyone this is my first post on this forum here is my situation:
I am a wagon enthusiast that after trying his dad's XC40 fell in love with the interior and looks of the Volvo lineup. It's time for me to change my car and looking around on the used market I've found a very nice V90 that was imported from Sweden with 100k km on the odometer for a reasonable price. I have already ran the VIN number and it all looks fine, no accidents and regular, documented, maintenance. To be specific the model is: D4 AWD Geartronic Navi from 2018, it's well maintained and inside has heated seats both in the front and rear. Tomorrow morning I am scheduled to test drive it and give it a final look before going ahead and pulling the trigger; Before actually buying the car I have a couple of questions that I'd like to submit: Is there any common failure I should look out for on these cars? I need it to be reliable as I will often use it to go on vacations abroad ( sometimes in "harsh" climates ). This car comes with parking sensors all around but on such a big car I'd like to get at least the rearview camera installed, however I don't seem to be able to find the cost of the original camera or even a part number. I need ( and I mean NEED ) the car to have Apple Car Play or Android Auto. How can I verify if this car actually has them? Is there a specific usb port I should plug my phone into tomorrow? or some menu I should check? I need to also mention that the main display is broken ( it has a black line in the middle ) so I've already agreed with the dealer that it should be replaced before I get the car. If the current system doesn't have it could I get it replaced with one that does? I also quite like the looks of the R Design Rear Bumper and I was thinking of getting one to change the look of the back of the car ( expecially of the round exhaust pipes ) would it be a straight swap? What rims do you suggest getting? The rims on the car are quite curbed and I'd like to get ( in the future ) bigger rims that fit the aggressive look I'd be going for. I'd like to upgrade the brakes to something bigger that can stop the car faster and doesn't "fade" as easily, anything to recommend? ( I was thinking of getting a kit of rotors and brakes from an RS4 but I would not mind getting something cheaper ) If you own this car what's your average consumption and what kind of driving do you do? Thank you so much for reading this all and have a nice day ( attached to the post are a few pictures of the car ) |

For Android Auto/Apple CarPlay - look in the central console under the armrest. Two USB ports (one with a white surround) and it supports. Only one USB and it doesn't.
Common failure is the rear lights getting water/condensation in and they will stop working (there'll be a warning in the dash). Replacement light at about 450 a piece + installation on top (requires about 1 hr labour). |
