Forgot to say that if it arrives before I want / need it they will happily delay delivery - they wanted it that way round rather than told me being without a car

My ideal spec turned up earlier this year after searching for months but it was black. I would not have a white car (imo white is a colour for domestic appliances) and black was my second least favourite! However having had it ceramic coated and having taken the little folding step from the kitchen, I’m finding it easy to keep clean and shiny.

Would you mind sharing roughly how much that cost? I’m currently waiting for a local detailer to get back to me.

Thanks

I paid £450 which included full valet of interior. The job took 2 days and I was told most of the time and effort goes into the preparation eg getting rid of swirl marks.

Seems quite reasonable to me given the size of the car.

Cheers for that BC

Slight hiccup - order cancelled as I couldn’t provide the finalised company accounts in time for the order process. Been away for a couple of days so couldn’t quite get sorted in time. Not a major worry as in theory enough time to get another order in and get by the start of May, but who knows? Will be a bit of a come down driving the children’s polo (with 60 comedy bhp) if it doesn’t come soon enough. Less bothered about wife’s C40 (which has order confirmed but no delivery date quoted as yet) as she can keep using her freelander

A bit more research has turned up a local detailer who’ll do the whole new car detail with ceramic coat gig (incl wheels) and protect the interior for £495. That’s much more palatable.

£1,250 my arse!

Is that like for like?

We paid about £1k for our XC90 to be prepped, coated with GTechnic Crystal Serum Pro (now replaced by "ultra") and then topped with Exo. Plus some other long lasting products on the wheels/glass/interior.

Highly, highly recommend it. The car was a dream to wash for the 4.5 years we had it, dirt just fell off and it always looked stunning.

Had our other car (Touareg) coated in one of the Gtechnic ceramics lower down the range and that was about £450. It's definitely not the same. Next car will be the top ceramic without a doubt.

Our car was subject to a Vlog so you can see the results - https://youtu.be/AX7slTAwzro - finished results about 8 minutes 20 or so in.
