I use Millers oil semi-synth, it seems to work well. Either will work.

If you look on the Castrol website - just type in your reg, there is reccs for all the oils required in a 940. I use Magnatec - too much of a coward to convert to fully synthetic!
"Engine (P) Magnatec 10W-40 A3/B3 (s) 3.9L Manual Transmission SMX-S (a) 2.3L Automatic Transmission TQ-D 7.5L Differential Syntrax Universal (t) EPX 80W-90 1.6L" All the best, Ben Last edited by RealEstate; May 21st, 2009 at 23:59. |

`Opie` oils have some good discounts this weekend. The bloke who runs it advertises somewhere on this site.
BTW a motor factor owner told me recently that all oils are made by only a few big companies, one of them is `Comma` who sell in massive bulk to the well known makes. Basically get the viscosity right and it doesn`t really matter which `brand` you buy! |

Thanks for all the replies, i've already done the engine with some 10/40W semi synth. I just wanted to know the correct type/viscosity of oil to use in the gearbox and rear diff. Its a manual 940 LPT 2.3 turbo.
Cheers from Ross |
