Default Shudder in First and Reverse

Hi there,

It's been a while (mostly because everything's been running fine!)

The last time I came here, I was having a problem with idle and low revvs. Well, there's a hissing which a mechanic has confirmed to be the inlet manifold gasket failing - once fixed this should bring the revs back up and no more fluctuating idle when I'm stopped!

Quite an annoying problem in addition to that though,

On takeoff, be it first or reverse, if I'm not careful enough with the clutch (I mean hypersensitive!) the car will shudder and the engine will bounce around.

What on earth is causing this?!!!?
It's doing my head in

Thanks!
Jason

.......sounds as though it is best to check all the engine and gearbox mountings.......they have too much give in them as the rubbers gone soft so when you let the clutch up you get a juddering.....start with the ones at either end of the engine that stops it rocking back and forth.....

Hey up,

Is there a chance here that something is up in the clutch system?

It it was worn out, would the judder be slipping and/or the contact being harsh due to clutch plates worn out.

Or is is a gearbox selector issue?

I can't profess to know at all, brainstorming!

Many Thanks,

Daniel

It sounds like it could be oil contamination on the clutch plate.

...a slipping clutch will not judder as it is slipping!!!!!
....the clutch makes the drive judder as the part which is doing the driving is not held firmly enough......the engine mounts allow the twisting motion then it slips back the clutch grips more then the enigne twists further etc etc etc.....so you have judder......if the clutch has oil on ithe plates it can judder if let up very slow but if let up quick it wont judder.......

Ah!

I have the opposite problem!

If I let it up slow, it's fine. If I let it up to quick the car turns into a rodeo bull!

nothing yet, first paycheque soon coming in after 8 months of unemployment. Unless you know how fix it without spending money? I, as well as many others I imagine, would be very interested in knowing that.
