Volvo Cars engages Orrefors in work with new concept car

Volvo Cars has engaged world-famous Swedish glassworks Orrefors in the work with the company's next concept car, which will be a first taste of the next-generation Volvo S60. The joint creation, a floating centre stack of hand-made Orrefors crystal, will be shown for the first time at the Detroit international motor show in January 2009

I like the look of that.

Not sure? i think its one of those where it would be needed to be seen in the flesh so to speak , might give the car a very cold feeling, not a cosy place to be.

It would look ultra moden at first i give you that but again not sure how it would stand up with the test of time , could also make a car look very dated as the years moved on.

Depending on how easy it scratches.

I think with user definable lighting colours it would be fun but it is of novelty value, the sort of thing that is must have for the first month then resides in the back of the cupboard ever more.

Have just read that article. I think the glass console looks stunning! A work of art indeed. I look forward to seeing photographs of it from the Motor Show.
