Electrics: 70: Sussex Independent Garages

Does anyone know of any good garages in or around the Brighton area? Got my 2nd hand Volvo yesterday - my wife thinks I am having a mid-life crisis.

Hi, I'm in Brighton too. Are you looking for a Volvo specialist or a general mechanic?

Avoid Amber Garage in Shoreham. They claim to be Volvo specialists but I have reason to doubt that. Steer clear at all costs.

Thanks for that, had the Lambda light on all weekend, just found out that it is beginning to stall in reverse - so without the capability of reading faults I suspect it maybe something quite simple an electrical cable that has been pinched or perished - judging by others posted who have suffered the same thing. Car is under warranty so I might go to Hapsteads in Portslade - has anyone else been there? Are they reasonable in price?

Hapstead is a main dealer, their service is very good and efficient but they're one of the most expensive dealers in the country.

Charlwood Volvo at Gatwick is the nearest Volvo specialist that I would reccomend and he knows his stuff and not too expensive but their customer service leaves a little to be desired.

If is wasn't for all the agro getting registered/renting a unit etc i would start up along the coast offering volvo repairs.
