Any dodgy link will clonk straight away. Before I had my balljoint issues that was a problem I had briefly, it wasn't knackered it just wasn't done up tight enough

Thank you for this gem. We had an clunk which was difficult to place (somewhere down the n/s front) but no idea what it was until I read your post, tried swaying the car and it clunked. First attempts to remove drop link were aborted due to not having an 18mm spanner but in the process finished said drop link off so it banged and rattled merrily afterwards. However, new link fitted now and car clunk free.
