Default Strange boost problem on my friends v70r

The car is the same as mine 1998 V70R ME7 when you accelerate in first gear the boost goes to about 6 psi and stays there in every other gear the boost goes to 13 psi the car is totally standard any ideas why

Tried today putting a MBC on the car in place of the solinoid and controlled the boost carefully with the throttle and car drives loads better but obviously cannot be left like this we have smoke Pro all the intake system and the vacuum system and all is good I have also replaced the one way breather valves under the manifold one had failed but replacing it made no difference to the boost problem I also swapped the TCV with mine and still no difference any ideas as this is becoming really irritating now

I thought boost was restricted in first gear to prevent too much wheel spin....

If he gets 6 and 13psi and your cars are the same, what numbers do you get?

It makes about 6psi in 1st gear the car used to be loads quicker with the MBC connected higher in the revs it gets 19psi with no boost cut no limp or over boost codes which makes me suspect that it may have been remapped eairler in its life I have ran a wideband air fuel on it and even at that boost it fuels really well when it was alot quicker never had a boost gauge fitted so I have no reference point

I know some auto maps had a lower boost in the lower gears as to not destroy the gearbox.
