Default Phone hook up

Managed to hook up my phone but the car mic. doesn't connect. Anyone know the reason? Can do all other functions. Dial, receive calls, hear the other person.

I've had a few functionality issues in the past that have required removing the phone from the cars list/memory then adding by it back in.

Had a play around with that and also installing via the phone and via the car. The manual says not all phones are fully compatible. It's a Redmi 8T.

Does anyone know if different versions of Bluetooth are backwards compatible?

The phone obviously has a version about 10 years ahead of the car.

I guess the next step is to try some other phones to try and establish if the mic. is physically connected and working.

In principle, Bluetooth is backwards compatible. FYI my 2020 Google Pixel 4a on Android 11 functions perfectly on my 2010 MY XC70.

Thank you. The first thing I have to do is establish if it's a software or hardware issue. I'll try the wife's iPhone.

All fixed. Tried another Android phone. Mic working, hence isolating the fault to my phone. First thing to try was re-booting the phone and re-synchronising. It then all worked correctly.

I initially forgot the golden rule when dealing with computer/digital glitches. First do a re-boot!
