Default sat nav update

Hi, I've got a 2015 v60, which I'm trying to do a Sat nav update on it.
I've downloaded the new maps from the Volvo main site on to a usb , but when I plug it in to the car and select usb the car says it's reading and then does nothing.
Any help would be great

Firstly, have you got a 32GB or 64GB usb stick and is the download stored directly to it, i.e. not hidden in a folder on the stick?

Step by step download guide;

Download selected update to an empty USB memory stick
Select download for Mac or Windows
Select "Run" to install the download manager
Follow instructions in download manager
Save downloaded update on an empty USB memory stick
N.B. A download may take several hours to execute depending on internet connection and file size
Install update in your car
Switch on the infotainment system
Insert the USB memory stick into the USB port
Follow instructions on center display
Wait for upload in your car
The upload can take 15 minutes up to several hours depending on product and file size

Make sure you use a good quality branded USB and do a full format (not a quick format) before you copy the files to it. I’ve also found downloading to the PC c: drive then copying across to the USB has better results.

Hi. Just a general map update question.
Looked at the official Volvo download site and it says to install the newer update for my 2012 xc60 it's says before this can be done I should contact a Volvo dealer and ask the price to enable my car to accept the update! Is this true ? Another money maker? Shall I just load it onto a USB stick and go for it? Regards

These pre-facelift models need a firmware update done by a dealer before they'll take the free user map updates. But possibly it's already been done?

2015 model won't need the update, it'll be pre-2014 ones without the globe button only that need the dealer

I know, I have a 2015 model. I was replying Adrian B's post in relation to his 2012 model.

Many thanks Chaps, however I have tried to do the update process according to all including YouTube videos I need the Volvo software update information. Is there any other option other than paying at a dealership to make my vehicle accept the update?

Probably not. I paid about £100 at Claytons of Mansfield.

I have check mine and the software version is 12 10 and the map version V30.20.03.
