Default V40 timing belt and cigar lighter

After selling my V60 3 years ago I'm back to Volvo and I've put a deposit down on a V40 (2017 t3 auto cross country) so a couple of questions regards the timing belt replacement because I called a volvo dealer who said they advised I replaced it every 5 years regardless of mileage, but elsewhere it ranges from 6 to 10 years for a replacement timing belt.

The second question is that I usually just plug my car cam into the cigar lighter but some cars keep the power on to the cigar lighter even when the car is locked, and is this the case with the V40.

Thanks in advance

My V40 T2 auto had its 5 year/90,000 mile service earlier in the year at 55,000 miles and the Volvo dealer advised me that the cambelt should be changed after 90,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.

Many thanks that's good to know (sounds like an honest Volvo dealer). I'm guessing that perhaps the 2.0 t3 engine might be different to the newer 1.5T t3 models and that might be where some of the confusion is?

Think 90,000 is right from the service schedule I have. The T3 1.5 and 2.0 in 2017 models are both 4 cyl and the same, but one has a reduced stroke. The auto boxes have 1.5 and manual 2.0 - not sure why!

12v socket goes off when you remove the ignition fob. My dash cam switches off when I leave.

I'm fairly certain the 1.6 D2 is 87,500 miles or 10 years but probably best to check with Volvo dealer.

According to this about £700 for the 87,500 mile service:-
