Interesting to see this topic as my XC60 developed this fault, outside temperature reading wrong (0) however mine has also intermittently stopped folding/unfolding the drivers side mirror. As that's where the tempo sensor is Im thinking a wiring fault.
Rang local dealer... 2 week wait to be seen.. 2 months if want a loan car.. so for now its set not to fold mirrors

Can you give more details? Does it move from the memorised position?

The thing is when sensor is sending wrong information also mirror position is affected somehow. It only happens when sensor is down and after revers as i set mirrors to go down when revers gear is selected. You can still adjust mirror manually . Weird.
When sensor start working correctly mirror get always to correct position even if was wrong before .

Well that seems perfectly logical

Software glitch?
Outside temperature sensor replaced plus software update by dealer under warranty last week - approx one hour while I waited. No repetition of issue since - technician seemed aware of similar cases. Clelands at Galashiels - very good service.

Yes it is - and the fact it is an owner managed business shows through.
