V50 or S40?

either way your going to Have to remove
ALL the door rubbers to allow you to remove the pillar trims
Move front seats as far forwards on the runners as possible for the B pillar trims

A +B +C pillar trims + D pillar And boot side trims if V50
to get the D pillar trims you Need to loosen the boot carpeting
all handles and roof fittings need to be removed, ditto front light, sun visors , the casing around the mirror , to get access to the rain sensor leads and mirror leads

Then you can CAREFULLY lower the whole liner, detach the cabling thats fixed to it,
Then IF V50 it Will exit the car Via the boot door you Will have to be very careful not to Crease the liner on removing it, helps IF you move the front seats Forwards (fold them) and Fold down the back seats to get it out And in

IF you have a sunroof and are needing to retrim the bind for that, its Remove the sunroof ,then the 4 clips for the blind and remove that From the top outside as you pull it forwards
**your going to have to re-trim the sunroof blind as getting the correct colour headling material Wont happen

https://www.as-trim.co.uk/index.php?...oducts_id=1084

for a sample pack of liner materials , pick what ever you like

https://www.as-trim.co.uk/index.php?...ex&cPath=5_200

when you have the colour you want
there IS enough material in the kit to do a V50 roof liner AND sunroof blind IF you lay it out properly.

give the glue time to set and cure Before refitting, pref Overnight time scales

you are Going to need to get ALL the old foam off the headliner, stiff hand brush and a vac will see to that, and good Luck getting the liner on without creases/folds/wrinkles
and better luck getting it Back in the car without mucky hand / finger prints

S40 ,unsure how/if it will come out the car Volvo recomended way is "strip the car,pop the windscreen out then take the liner out the front"

Forget trying to rip the old fabric off and stick the new one up with the liner in the car, it Wont happen, but please video it if you do we all could do with a giggle

Check out these links on YouTube. They are the best headliner repair videos I have seen and go into enough details to do it yourself. They also tell you why they fall down and why just sticking them with glue will never last long.
