Xc70 started playing silly buggers, brake failier stop safely message, when the car had been parked on the drive for 3 days.
Phoned local dealer, they had one in stock, went and got it in the landrover, paid £98 and was back on the road in half an hour. The new volvo battery says made in Germany so I has assumed it was a boche. Paul.

The nights are drawing in so I thought I'd better order a replacement battery before winter bites. For info it's an 096 size EFB type, Volvo part number 30644962.
Called my usual Volvo dealer and they quoted £113 +VAT, which isn't terrible compared to some of the internet offerings I found from Tayna, etc., however they would not ship it to my address due to it being 'dangerous goods'. It's a two hour round trip to collect so I declined. Called Neil at Lloyd Volvo of Carlisle (came across his details in another thread) and he quoted me £99 inc. VAT plus a reasonable shipping charge. So I've placed an order.
