Default Odd mirror behaviour

Guys
My XC70 passenger door mirror keeps resetting itself to the same position (Not the one I want!) I adjust, but the next time I start it returns to it's previous position. I have tried setting it with seat memory but it makes no difference.

Does the door module have influence on this? A friend scanned the car with a Snap On tool, and got the following codes:

PASSENGER DOOR MODULE

PDM-0028 Mirror motor MC, signal too low

PDM-0027 Mirror MY+, signal too low

PDM-0024 Mirror MX+, signal too low

Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

If the driver's side mirror is reacting normally I'd conclude any "power supply" is OK.
Maybe clean any contacts on the involved modules and whatever plugs into them?
If these motors are like stepper motors maybe the passenger's side needs to see it's zero?

And, as with everything today, is your battery fully charged? It ALWAYS seems to be asked.

What happens if you unlock the car with the spare key?

Pretty sure the memory function is also tied to which key is used.

Mine did this when I bought it and was really frustrating, couldnt get any memory function to work with any keys to what I wanted, so I just swapped to the other set of keys which does nothing when I open the car which is what I want. Never investigated it further.

total shot in the dark here but.. any chance it might help if you set the mirror up how you want it, turn off car, disconnect battery or pull fuse, wait a while, reconnect and see what happens

maybe nothing .. but i'm working on the theory that memory might be cleared and 'current' position might be accepted as the default

should also clear any spurious faults

wouldn't take long or cost anything to try

Thanks for the ideas so far guys. A further development. I have discovered that if I start the engine and press my seat memory button (no1) the mirror goes to where I want it! However when I then park, lock and unlock it returns to where it was before.......
Curiouser and curiouser.

It does sound like it's connected to the key memory function, intended for dual drivers so each driver has their own key and the car moves the seat/mirrors depending on which is used to unlock.

If you don't need it or it's proving more bother than it's worth, see if you can find a member with VIDA as you can disable it entirely:

1. Diagnostics > Vehicle Communication > PSM > Advanced
2. PSM > Programming the remote control setting
3. (Click VCT2000 symbol) > select whichever setting turns it off

(not got laptop connected to car currently so not sure what the labelling is, I think there's only active and inactive though)

Try setting every thing were you want it then save it to button 1 and button 2 on the seat memory and see if that works.

May be which key you are using also requires the setting to be saved in the correct corresponding memory button.

Try clearing all the DTCs and start again with setting the seat and mirror positions. I've had similar issues on a V70 after the battery voltage has been low and the car's thrown up all sorts of codes.
