Default Booked for Geartronic and Haldex service

£235 for both from a local place that I've used a few times as they have a Hunter wheel alignment set up. I think the price is reasonable and they're using Volvo parts

Will see if there's any difference after. To be fair, gearbox is pretty smooth after 78k miles having never been serviced

I paid £150 for an Autobox service so I reckon that’s a good deal for both. I’m going to get my Haldex serviced next.

That’s a good deal.

Meant to update. Both done but to be honest, I don't notice any difference. Peace of mind though a nearly 80k on original oil didn't sit well

Next job is likely to be suspension bushings

Thought I'd post another update on this.

After a few more weeks, I can say that the gearbox is definitely smoother. On pulling away and on occasional downshifts, it's used to feel like a clutch had been dumped but that all seems to have gone. I guess with miles, the adaptations have adjusted to the new fluid.

So, definitely money well spent.

Flushed my gearbox today. Second time I have carried out this procedure. First at 78k, now at 105k. I thoroughly recommend having it changed. I do 60 miles a day on B roads and motorway. Let me tell you the oil was absolute filth.

Is there a recommended mileage to do these at? for the Haldex and gearbox?

Our previous car was an X5.. supposed to be "sealed for life" and not needed.... but more than aware that these things need to be done, so just working out best time to do it.

Our XC60 is now on 70k so feels about the right time to do it

The haldex around every 35k. Mine got its first service at 100k. It was ready as never done before even though a dealership did all the services from new. Sealed for life🙄 the oil and gunge was bad and the pump filter was nearly clogged with slime and friction plate debris.
I did it myself. So it ain't difficult!
The special oil and new o rings for the Mk5 unit was a total of £15 delivered off eBay.
Followed one of the youtube videos. Never done one before so I took my time. Approx 1 hour on the drive.
Mines a manual gearbox so very easy to service.
Approx every 45k for an oil change. But the first oil changed was done on mine at 100k!
Just after I bought the car.
After 100k the gearbox oil was original and pants. Sealed for life again maybe! So I was glad I did it.
I wanted to do the rear diff and bevel box so I bought a 12v pump. I failed as the diameter of the suction pipe to get fully into the units has to be very small externally. So still a work in progress.
Any tips would be appreciated on this.
