Faulty rear parking sensor
2011 XC70
Hi, I've got a fault developing with the rear parking sensors. When in reverse, they always work as they should when detecting an obstruction but the outer drivers side sensor has started to intermittently activate when their is no obstruction present. Sometimes it is just an occasional bleep but other times it bleeps repeatedly unless I switch off the system. Before I go buying a replacement sensor is there anything else I should check? |

In my experience Parking sensors ether work or they dont, but try changing the sensor for the opposite side one to see if it does the same on the other side before investing a tenner in a new one from Ebay. Volvo Stealers will charge IRO £70 per sensor plus fitting to do the job which only takes a few minutes.

Just checking - these are all simply plug & play, yes?

I've taken it out, cleaned the electrical connections and reinstalled. So far so good. Thanks for advice.

It's a lil bit tricky to remove connector. |

My son had a problem with his reverse sensors on his BMW and was advised to spray WD40 into them from the outside, seemingly moisture can work its way in on his type , not sure if it would be the same for yours but could be worth a try, as his started working properly again.
