Default S60 detachable tow bar questions .

Hi

Just purchased a genuine Volvo detachable bar second hand and was wondering if anyone had a copy of the fitting instructions they could mail me . It is , from what i can tell , a fairly early one with the larger lockable detachable hitch . It has a blue locking lever and a red pin that shows when it is locked or not . Also , did these come with a cover that conceals the socket etc when the hitch is removed ? . If so is this available to buy as it has not come with one ? .

Many thanks

Steve

If it's got a blue locking handle make sure your car has self levelling suspension. There are 2 different types of towbar. My previous V70 didn't have self levelling and the lever was black, my current XC70 has it and the lever is blue. The difference is the length of the swan neck which puts the ball at the correct height.

There should have been a cover supplied to cover the "stump" when ball not fitted.

Check this with a dealer to be sure though.

Thanks guys , i have fitted it now and i purchased a cover from dealer . It was really quite straight forward apart from not really being sure about the bumper cut as there are multiple guide marks on the inside . I started with the smallest and worked outwards .
