Default MY2000 V70 towbar electrics connector

Hi all,

Just today managed to get my 7 core 12N cable through into the boot for my towbar. I have also found a 2" square grey lighting control box with a lever out plastic end that looks as if you can slide a connector in to connect the towbar lighting electrics. Anybody got one of these connectors or know where I can get one.

Thanks

Martin

Don't know if it's the same as on my new shape V70 2001, but I got a wiring loom from Volvo including tralier plug, boot floor grommet and connector to plug into a plug near the spare wheel for £16. Plug and go trailer electrics - easy! The plug in the boot sounds similar to your description. I recommend you give your Volvo dealer a ring. I was very surprised at the cost and ease of this job

Steve,

A couple of pics attached. i think this is the bulb failure unit but if you prise out the brown cover that you can see, there are a couple of sliders to allow another connector to be inserted. I'm convinced this is for a towbar wiring connector.

Thanks for your help.

Martin

Thanks for your input G & S. I'm pretty sure things got a lot easier from 2001 but '97 to '00 seems a complete mystery.

That looks very similar to the connector in the boot of my new shape V70! I'd definitley ring up your Volvo dealer and ask if they do a similar loom to mine. REALLY, really easy!
