Fuel filter replaced, new pads all round, new rear shoes and all the brake springs replaced all Volvo OEM supplied by FRF. I fitted the 850 style rear adjusters also FRF supplied - what a difference to the feel of the hand brake. The rock back into the shoes has gone.

According to the invoices, the shoes were last replaced around 6k miles ago and showed no signs of wear - I've retained them as useable spares but might well get them riveted to make sure the linings don't detach if they are not used for a few years.
In the last couple of weeks I had been pulling the hand brake on a few times when moving to clear any build up of dust and rust etc. but there was still a lot there on the drum face.

All that's left to do now is fit the new exhaust and sort out the misfire from the new Volvo plugs I fitted last week. My Vida/Dice would not communicate with the car earlier in the week, my Konnwei 809 (the autel lookalike) communicates but finds no codes, so I still don't know whether it is a Vida/Dice fault or a dodgy OBDII socket.

I have been told it can't find codes because the misfire is intermittent at tickover, so there' not enough data in the recorded string to identify the pot with the problem. I've no idea whether or not that is true.

if you can not fined the misfire get a oscilloscope on the car so you can see what is going on,

Which circuits would you attach your oscilloscope to? Is this something you can do at fuse blocks?

If the engine was missing there would be no coil packs to look at!

I've no idea - SO (followed by 15 second hiatus justifying a profound Brexit statement by an intelligence challenged supporter/voter!!!!!)
I've got to wait until I have sorted sort out the VIDA/DICE interface and aka handshake

I replaced my missing reverse bulbs and found one of these on either side. Any ideas?

Dave, as GeorgeandKira above, I know how to use an oscilloscope, but I'm not clear where it would be connected to determine the cause of a misfire.
NB as the misfire wasn't present before I changed the plugs - the most likely problem is a plug - the car has only done 120k miles - the coil packs look to be in good condition, no tracking etc.

T5's new exhaust finally fitted this morning - cat to rest of the system nuts came off fairly easily but the bolts were seized in the cat - butane gas flame sorted then out...............the car was bought with a blowing exhaust - it is now so quiet that I can hear a ping when I accelerate or on occasion decelerate. the misfire is still there but seems to be less prominent.

Torque wrench out later to check the axle bolts!
