Default V40 2.0 Auto up arrow and check engine light

Having only just got this car I have rectified all bar this fault on it.
The car is running absolutely fine however when engaging winter mode or 3 on the stick the check engine light and the up arrow both come on together, the lights don't flash. If i turn winter off or go back into drive the lights go off. No obvious faults, car doesn't appear to go into limp mode either. I plugged the car into vida, cleared all old faults and only one fault remains. This is an ECM fault. Has anybody had this fault and knows how to fix it?

Sounds like a short somewhere. A long shot here but you may want to pop off the shifter bezel and reach down to see if some wires are being stretched any time the shifter goes too far aft. These wires may be part of same ground circuit with MiL. Long shot like I said. Good luck.

will try that later, the shift lock over ride button was stuck down and the keys were stuck in the ignition when I bought it so I could possibly have disturbed some stuff there! thanks mate
