"Twang" noise on steering V60
2011 T6 AWD, 51k miles. I can only describe a noise as a ""twang", a bit like the noise a garage door spring might make if hit with something. Not a great description, I know. Anyway, it occurs on steering, both moving and stationary, if turning the wheel just slightly off dead ahead. My thoughts are the front suspension springs moving in their mountings. Or top mounts becoming an issue? Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? I've not yet had chance to jack the car up and look. Other than that the steering feels fine. Cheers.

I had a similar noise from the driver's side front of my 2014 V60 D4, mostly when going over light ripples and when turning at car-park speeds - it started a few months back but stopped when I drove faster than I intended over a level crossing that was bumpier than expected.
I've not heard the noise for over 2 months since. I think mine was caused by either something in the spring retaining pan, or the pan rubbing on the spring that was 'reset' by the big bump over the level crossing. |

I picked up a brand new v60 last week and have noticed the same thing. Happens when turning at low speed for me.

My xc70 has the twang!
Nearside on lock in car parks will sometimes make the spring twang noise, I assume it's just the spring moving a bit?

2015 S60 AWD same twang noise
Did any of you with this twang noise figure out what is causing it? My 2015 S60 AWD makes the same noise periodically at slow speeds when turning. Thanks.
