2013 XC70 90k miles
Transmission oil changed at 56k (sump drop & fill) Transmission oil changed at 90k (complete machine exchange) Just had the transmission oil replaced and software updated and car runs nicely through all the gears. I have one intermittent problem that hasn't been cured where the transmission will jerk into gear when sat at a standstill when in 'D' with brake pedal depressed. It seems connected with the brake pedal pressure and the stop neutral on the transmission....perhaps vacuum related? Any help or comments would be appreciated Regards, Steve |

Ditto the above - the newer software has a very different, more granular adaptations profile and it can take a good few miles and number of shifts for it to adapt fully.

All gear selections are smooth, it's generally only when I come to a stop (traffic light) that it kicks 'occasionally' and it can feel like a small shunt from behind. I've covered 500+ miles since the oil & software and all feels fine on the move. Thanks, |

I had this and the advice which I followed was to find a quiet space with several; car lengths both in front and behind and repeatedly select first D and drive the car forward a few feet and stop and put back into P and then select R and drive it backwards a few feet and do this about ten times. You can also do it afterwards from N in the same way. Then just use the car and see if it has smoothed out the P and N to D and R take up. It did work for me. I suspect this is a way of accelerating the adaptation process.

I'm pretty sure I didn't use VIDA for this at all so perhaps it's just the placebo effect that convinced me that the gearbox stopped jolting. It did stop jolting but perhaps there was more to it than that.
