Default Poor reverse lights on volvos? We need halogen bulbs...

Hi all, Does anyone else think that the reversing lights on volvos are poor? I have seen halogen bulbs on idp.com in the USA, but is there anyone in the UK that sells them?

My V40 illuminates my Driveway quite nicely - for what they are used for, and the speed that you should be going backwards they are more than capable. If your's do not do the job then I'd say you have an issue somewhere. As for the Halogen bulbs, I'd say these are a no-no on a couple of points:

[ul]
[li]You are limited to the wattage you can have at the rear - Hallogens are probably illegal for this use[/li]
[li]I'd imagine that you would melt the rear lenses with the heat that more powerful bulbs generate[/li]
[/ul]

I'd just check that your lenses are clean, and maybe get a couple of new bulbs to see if that makes a differernce (they are not that expensive). If this doesn't sort out your problems then get someone to check the voltages etc to make sure you don't have a problem with your electrics.
