Lowering an XC70
Hi forum,
First post from me. I am picking up a D3 geartronic on Friday and I am already looking to make it a wee bit different. I used to own an allroad 2.7T and did a mod on it to lower the suspension (air suspension). I see on swede speed that they use S60 awd springs to do the mod but was wondering as my one is a fwd car should I use the s60/v70 fwd springs instead? I am also looking to get 18" alloys plus a remap. I am coming from an Audi S6 V10 so want a wee bit more go from the 5cyl 2.0D. ;-) Ta, Deano. |

why bother ? The xc70 is higher for a reason.
Get yourself the cheaper 4x4 normal car and put some plastic trims on to make it look like an xc70 Let someone who wants the ground clearance have the xc.

I'm on the same page as others who have replied to this thread.
Would it not be better to get a fwd V70 D5 and stick on the XC plastic? That way you don't have to change the suspension, you get more go from the D5 rather than the D3 and you could get one with 18" alloys already fitted. |

Yeh a D5 would be the one to get but I didn't so the D3 will have to do. |

Maybe you should "ask" your insurance company......... see what they make of your proposed alterations and let us know what they think.

Thanks for all your helpful input guys. If this is done my insurance company will be informed. I am not a 18 year old spotty teenager so no need to treat me like one. I shall ask elsewhere as I might get a better response to my first post on this forum.

You're behaving like a teenager, throwing toys out of pram at the first hint of dissent.
Go squeeze some spots, work it out of your system. Perhaps you should talk to Kieran, he'd like to buy you an ice-cream. If you are old enough. Oo-er
