Default Broken front spring

Hi All,

After a bit of knowledge as my c70 has just broken a front spring. Any ideas on a part number and also if it has “sports springs” or not? Was this just for the T5?

Mine is a D5 auto SE Lux on the standard 18 inch rims.

Cheers in advance

Chris

Hi
I believe the VIN can be decoded to give some answers to suspension components

Just google,
First I found
Quite a few more.

So I have my Chassis code (not the vin) but even so it is a mine field of options as nobody seems to confirm (with an up to date link) what it means.

Code is 1628A5635G51

Now I believe 16 relates to the front springs but nowhere can I find what 16 means?

Also why is it impossible to get a parts catalogue for these cars ?

vida has the parts catalogue. if your car has substantial mileage you should replace both springs when one of mine failed i replaced both springs and both shocks because of the amount of dismantling involved and my mileage was over 100k you can still buy the parts from volvo ir you want to do the work your self.

Volvo part number 30666207 - Front Suspension Spring (marked 16)

If you're getting pattern parts, then double check on the manufacturers website that the part you're buying cross references against the Volvo part number.

I looked up all of the part numbers for the chassis code on my 2006 C70 2.4i a while ago and only the code for the front springs is different to yours, so I'll paste it in below, so you've got the rest of the part numbers if you ever need them.

Chassis code 1428A5635G51

30666205 - Front Suspension Spring (marked 14)
31277596 - Front Suspension Strut LH (marked 28)
31277595 - Front Suspension Strut RH (marked 28)
30748523 - Front Anti Roll Bar (marked A)
30632824 - Rear Suspension Spring (marked 56) (superseded by 1385369)
31262659 - Rear Suspension Shock (marked 35)
30633863 - Rear Anti Roll Bar (marked G)
31329093 - Front Suspension Bump Stop (marked 5)
- Rear Suspension Bump Stop (marked 1)
